Guest guest
Sorry things aren't looking bright for you these days. I know how difficult it is when you're awaiting transplant. My best friend's husband was waiting for a pancreas and kidney, and they had to be from the same person, so that would mean deceased. Anyways, he was #1 on the list for 9 months. Everytime the phone rang they would jump and they had many false alarms(get to the hospital only to find out that the kidney wasn't good or smthg else). They were so tense and on edge. Finally they got tired of the waiting game and decided to go to a friend's cabin for an overnight retreat, w/beeper & cel phone in hand, they were apprehensive about the whole trip because the distance may have put them 5 or 10 minutes too far away if traffic were thick, well anyways, they decided that the retreat was necessary for their sanity so they packed their car and headed off. They were not out of their driveway when he finally got the real call. It was truely a God send. And here he is 1 1/2 yr. later & doing well. About the donor drive, I would personally do it. Chance may not be a donor, but chances there may be too! And with 's high profile, maybe the person will be available immediately. I always take the attitude that I must do everything in my personal power....and this is in your hands. What have you got to loose? Keep us posted, and we'll keep you in our prayers, Wife to Tom, Mom to 6 yr Zach, ???(don't know the specific type) PID, GERD, chronic sinusitis, IVIG,
