Guest guest
hmmmm....this is making me wonder.....however, I did have blood work and my free t's had both gone down....I am now on armour and don't feel much better. Dr. has told me to go from 3gr to 4..... Ellis Ecke, LPC, LCDC Life Transformation Coaching and Counseling www.stephanieecke.com "Let the Transformation Begin!" Re: WIP P-thyroid reaction I wonder if that is what is happening with me. I assumed that I was hypo again with terrible brain fog, anxiety and heart palps but now wonder if I am hyper. Kind of hard to figure out since the symptoms are the same either way. I am definately calling my doc on Monday. Too bad the dose comes in one capsule so I can't experiment at all. After several weeks on P-thyroid, at the same dose I was on with Westhroid, I went very hyper. I tried taking doses with food, but it just kept getting worse. So I dropped my dose from 3 to 2 grains a week ago, and felt much better. I have added 1/8th grain since then. I am rather flabbergasted by the amount that I dropped and am still feeling fine. I have no idea what level I will need to get to at this point. I just hope I can stay ahead of getting overly hypo. I talked to a pharmacist at WIP and asked her if I was an outlier in having a strong hyper reaction to their P-thyroid. She said, no, and added that a % of patients were having to reduce dosages after they switched to P-thyroid. She agreed with me when I asked if perhaps the use of the olive oil and no other binders or fillers was allowing the medication to enter my system unimpeded. I asked her if my large drop in dose was unusual and she said no. She said folks are reacting in different ways, some stayed on the dose they were on without issue, but dropping from 3 grains to 2 grains was not unusual. I will find it very interesting if I do better on the "straight stuff" versus medication like Armour, NT or Westhroid that has binders and fillers. Maybe this is what I've needed all along. ------------------------------------
Guest guest
My reaction has been opposite of yours. I was on Armour and Cytomel. Then came " new " Armour and my reaction was not good, so I switched to WIP compounded, same amount. Felt okay, but not great. Began gaining weight. Then this December, I really cratered, with a very low temperature (for me) and increased my meds on my own with some old Armour (like two years old) I happened to have. I slowly began feeling better. However, both my Free Ts were below midrange when tested a couple of weeks ago, my Free T3 very low. In the past, I felt best when my Free T3 was slightly over range and my Free T4 was in the upper part of the range. No wonder I'm struggling. . . Anyhow, soon I'll be trying a 1/2 grain higher dose of WIP compounded. I hope it works. I was a little surprised that 1/2 grain increased also increased the price as much as it did. good health all 'round, kidbobo > > After several weeks on P-thyroid, at the same dose I was on with Westhroid, I went very hyper.
