Guest guest
Hi Carol, Welcome to our Group! I'm 58 and I've had EN for 37 years (and that's the truth too ;-) ) We all have differing experiences with EN. Some lucky people only have one bout in their whole life. Others have recurrent and go into remissions and flare ups (like me), and others never seen to reach remission and just learn to live with it. Have you had tests to find the underlying cause? If not, you really should. Although in up to half the cases no cause is found (like me again). It can take a lot of detective work to find the trigger or cause, but we have many leads here if your doctor is not familiar with EN. I'd seriously consider taking time off work for bedrest. It can speed remission. There is some thought that it can also keep one from getting EN again, but this is just a theory. When I first got EN at age 21 I was misdiagnosed and spent about 2 1/2 weeks in bed [as I couldn't walk]. I had a 3 yr. remission after that. Then I tried to work in spite of EN--and the remissions became less frequent :-( Of coures, that's just me. Everyone is different as I said. Only time will tell which pattern of EN emerges for you. Please invite your doctor to the group. All doctors are welcomed here. Shins up! [our motto, describing leg elevation] Love,
