Dear Stacie,

On behalf of all our members, welcome to our Erythema Nodosum Group!

Thanks for sending in your Questionnaire. I have added the information

to our " Member Medical History " Files on the Group site and posted it

below.

You now have Full EN Group privileges.

You are receiving Daily Digest EN Group emails, and you can also go to

the EN Group site whenever you like:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erythema_nodosum_Group/

and logging on with your Yahoo ID and secret password.

You do not have to have the group emails delivered to be a member here.

I'm hoping you have done all the many medical tests to find the EN

trigger. Your prednisone experience is most familliar here. Are you

taking meds besides the ones you mentioned? Also have you been getting

rest? I find that to be most helpful. I've had chronic EN for 37 yrs.,

so I (and many other members) know what you are going through.

Welcome to our Group!

Love,

******

5. Describe your erythema nodosum/PG symptoms or, if you do not have

EN or PG, please explain why you wish to join this group.

I was diagnosed with EN back in Sept.

I had it 8 yrs ago while I was pregnant.

After I had the baby it went away.

It returned in 6/05. I actually hit my leg on a slide.

I did not break the skin or anything I just bumped it.

After that my ankle swelled up and it has just moved around my leg.

When I take Prednisone it clears up, but as soon as I stop or lower

the dose, it returns.

I have also noticed that when I do bump my leg that is the next area

to flare up.

They did a biopsy last month and it confirmed EN, however the trauma

to the leg from the biopsy caused it flare up again (very painful).

Now they are trying a steriod cream and pain medication.

Unfortunately, I don't think this cream is working.

6. List any other health conditions.

Hypothyroidism - diag. during blood work for EN 8/05

back in 1993 I was hyperthyroidism after treatment, I was sub-clinical

hyperthyroidism

7. State what medications or treatments you take for EN, and their

effectiveness:

Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream .025% and Vicodin for pain - Just

started the cream 3/10 and I am not sure if it is going to work or

not. I really don't want to go back on the Prednisone pills. I gain

weight and feel like crap!

8. When did you first get erythema nodosum or PG? 4/97 and again 6/05

9. How long have you had erythema nodosum or PG? 6/05 it won't go away

- it just travels around my leg
