Dear Deb, Holly, Lucy and Group,

I have been doing cooking ahead for many years. I will make a huge

crock pot of soup, bake yams, make brown rice, bake muffins, even make

salad ahead of time and either refrigerate, or freeze them. Then hubby

" makes dinner " which means he microwaves or adds tomatoes etc. to a

meal that is 99% ready to eat. I can't imagine making meals one at a

time. I like to " multitask " and get a few days meals ready at once. I

even prepare my cat Walter's chicken ahead of time.

I think the crock pot is the best invention ever! I use mine about

once a week.

As for grocery shopping, I go once a week. I keep the pantry and

freezer stocked so I am prepared even if we have an earthquake--a real

possability in CA.

Those " labor saving devices " like washing machines/dryers and

dishwashers really do help those of us who need to get off our feet

and rest. Someone mentioned paper plates, and that sounds good to me.

Wishing Everyone a Happy and Healthy 2005!

Love,
