Guest guest
Is joint pain / burning a hypo symptom some experience? I have been hypo since around age 11 or 12 (am 35 now). After being on synthetic meds through childhood until my 30s, I started supplementing with armour, then did the endo dance where he sounded the alarm bells & pulled me off, etc. I found a doc almost 3 years ago that switched me entirely to armour. At the beginning of this year, I switched to compounded when I couldn't find armour & started having problems. Numbers shot up/down, so we thought the pharmacy I used (Trinity Pharm in Carrollton) might be the prob. Then I switched to DrugCrafters which my doc said he knew was good & number have continued to plummet. Last labs are: TSH, 3rd gen 68.21 (.4 - 4.5 range) T4, Free 0.6 (.8 - 1.8) T3, Free 1.8 (2.3 - 4.2) Ferritin 41 (10 - 154) I am now back on Armour (180mg every other day, 210 on alternating days) for the past 2 weeks. In the past 4-6 weeks, I have started experiencing increasing joint pain/burning & am wondering if it is related to the hypo? My numbers have never been this far off. Both my shoulders burn when I move my arms a certain way or lift something more than 5 pounds (feels like my rotator cuff) and my left hand index finger joint at the base of my finger burns when I move it a certain way. I separated the ligament in my right thumb 4 years ago and this pain feels similar. I am concerned, that all of the pains started around the same time, so it's not like I've done something like injured it while working out... Anyone have any experience with this? I have not typically connected symptoms I was having with becoming more hypo. I think since it's been most of my life, I tend to ignore or not notice that I'm feeling more worn out or the weight is slowly creeping up and I think I've just had too much take-out, etc. But this is pretty extreme & I'm too young to be falling apart! Also, I now live in Austin even though the pharmacies I was using were in DFW. My doctor in DFW is continuing to treat me (unless I can find someone stellar down here) & I had DrugCrafters mail me my prescription so I didn't chance any variation in the compounding. Any help is appreciated! in Austin
