Guest guest Posted November 17, 2010 Report Share Posted November 17, 2010 Well, my daughter just had her thyroid taken out, she had two nodules and didn't want to mess with scans every six months. She's 48. One nodule was very large and pressing on her esophagus and uncomfortable. I do not know if they left parathyroids, I should ask her. She is undermedicated and trying to get to her optimum dose. She asked the doc why she got it, and the doc said, " from your mother. " thanks, mom! so in your case.....thanks grandma! it goes in families. Wonder what gene it's on. Ick. My son doesn't seem to have it. But you know, my daddy was bone-tired all his life, so......it doesn't seem to be sex-linked. I suspect he had it, too.
