Dear ,

Thanks for sending in your Questionnaire.

I have added the information to our " Member Medical History " Files on

the Group site and posted it below.

You now have Full EN Group privileges.

You are receiving EN Group emails, but remember that you can go to the

EN Group site whenever you like by going to :

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erythema_nodosum_Group/

and logging on with your Yahoo ID and secret password.

You do NOT have to have the group emails delivered to be a member here.

Blood tests alone cannot rule out the many possible causes of EN and I

would call your doctor's attention to these causes listed on our Files

under Triggers and Causes of EN. I am sure he will not test for tham

all--as there are about 100, but he must do a strep test and rule out

sarcoidosis and Crohn's as these are the most common related

disorders. Once that is done, you may be thrown into the " idiopathic "

half of EN patients--where no trigger is discovered. That is where I

am. Even, so you will learn ways to treat it from this fine group.

Welcome!

Love,

At first I felt sore, stiff & ached head to toe & had loss of mobility

in my

ankles, then my tempeture started going up & down & my skin felt very

sensitive all over.

Then I notice a small lump on the front of my shin & another on my

ankle &

started to find it even more difficult to walk, I went to the doctors

& he said

it was cellulitis & put me on antibiotics & after a week I had

developed ten

lumps on both of my lower legs & one on my upper thigh & was having a

great deal of difficulty walk or standing for any period of time.

I then seen another doctor who diagnosed it as EN & he put me on a anti

inflamitories & Penicillin, this seemed to make no difference at all &

after a

week I went back & asked for some blood test, these came back yesterday

showing no adnormalities & now I feel a little lost as what to do next.

If had two different anti biotics, one was Penicillin & I cant

I also had a weeks cousre of the anti inflamitory (Indometacin) then the

doctor took me off them as i was getting a lot of swelling in my feet

& he

said that a side effect of this anti inflamitory was water retention?

next.
