Guest guest
Thats one of the tough parts of being a dog lover! They need medical and dental care as much as we do. From teeth cleanings to emergency dental work and immunizations to accidental poisionings, we have been there. And yes, it is very expensive! Many of our friends simply put their dogs to sleep or drop them off at the SPCA when it comes to making the decision to take them to the Vet and get the care they need or not. WHEW!! We are paying off a $1200 Vet bill from Thanksgiving when the two littlest got sick, the momma went into heat, and we had to have 3 nuetered and spayed all in one week! You can tell we are not the types to let it go or get rid of the animal! Thank God for small town vets who let us pay it off in payments! That's one of the first lessons our kids had to learn about animals, if we have pets, we are responsible for them, and there are times when WE have to go without because our pets need care. Not one of our kids (or us) would ever chose to let any of our pets be in pain! Some think we are nuts for having 9 dogs (yes, it is expensive for food and vet care!) but they fill our lives with so much love and joy, we wouldn't trade any of them or change a thing! Would we take our dog to the vet for a broken tooth? In a heartbeat! If the root is exposed, the dog is probably in pain, and is not only miserable, could possibly bite a family member due to the pain. I hope you are able to get it taken care of soon, and cheaply! Check around for prices and payment plans, lots of vets have vastly different charges and many will let you postdate several checks and they will deposit them once a month or every 2 weeks, etc..... If you have a regular vet you use, talk to them! See if they can work with you on the payment..... Like Pat said, our animals can't talk to us, they need us to talk for them, and they trust us as to care for them as well..... HUGS!! He has been to the vet because i was worried he was hurt and i was also worried about any kind of infection possible going thru his blood. my dogs are like my babies and i would never let his health go. i take very good care of my dogs and they are at the vet in a minute if something is wrong. i am a huge animal lover and i am not one to euthanize them if something goes wrong. that isnt me at all. i had called them back though because they gave us flouride and a toothbrush/paste but i dont see his teeth looking any different. he is not in any pain though. i was just so scared of an infection. i dont know what could have caused him to break a tooth- i guess like humans, they can vicki

Guest guest
Aw Vicki, I'm so sorry to hear about your doggie breaking a tooth. Poor baby! If I were you, I'd shell out the money. A broken tooth can only cause problems down the road. Tracey > FOr all you doggie owners, have you ever had a dog break a tooth. My > jakey broke one of his front teeth and im worried.
