Do a lot of Nada's do this?? Mine has, ever since social services has

been involved, blamed each and every one of her negative attributes to

PTSD. She used to freak out on every single person in the house then

hand me the handbook on the PTSD page and tell me why I couldn't show

it to everyone in the house so they would know and understand why she

acted that way. Hello? If she knows and understands why she acted

that way, why not DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT? It seems to me that PTSD is

the disorder of choice for some BPs to hide behind though I don't get

quite why-- because then maybe they can deny any part in their

behavior by saying THIS IS BECAUSE OF SOMETHING BAD THAT WAS DONE TO

ME? What do you all think?

LOL this is what I was diagnosed with! After 9/11 I took a long

slow slide into depression that my family doctor diagnosed and

knowing my background with my mother sent me to see a therapist who

deals with children of BP parents.

She told me that basically I grew up in the middle of a war zone and

that that could lead to post tramatic stress and something like the

events of 9/11 could have brought it to the fore. My in-laws, their

oldest son and wife and two children were all at the Pentagon that

morning and I had 4 cousins and two uncles at the WTC. Everyone

survived but I guess it hit too close to home. One of my uncles had

worked on the WTC from it's inception and I and my cousins made

several trips to the site while it was under construction.

My mother has never suggested that she suffers from PSTD her main

claim to fame is that she has marytered herself for us all through

out her life and that she has atypical bi-polarism and if everyone

would do what she said everything would be ok.

Anyway I have been seeing her for almost two years now and I am doing

much better especially if I keep my contacts with my mother limited

to one phone call a week. She still calls 25 to 30 times a week but

I only pick it up once on Monday, after that she talks the machine.

I had to have my mother committed last month. She called my house late one

night drunk and talking about killing herself and that my step dad was using

secret poisons on her and al sorts of madness. She also ransacked her baedroom

and attacked my 4 year old step niece.I am in Virginia but I called the

police in Louisiana to chevk it out.

At least now if she hurts my sisiter or anyone else in the immdeiate

family behind closed doors there will now be a history of her illness

documented.

After the event I drew the line and told her to stop calling me. She left

messages at firts but i returned them and reilliterated my derire to be left

alone for the most part. My husband thought the message was bizzare too. LOL

My sister is in Ohio with my oldest sister from father, right now. My

nada has been beingn all niceand lovey dovey since the looney bin , I think she

is TERRIFIED of her darker side being discovered after the incident. My

little sister seems so hopefull and happy about it, so I just play along with

her,

" Yes. Tori, Im very glad to hear that! thats good news! How great! "

But I know what ten more years of dealing with nada than she has had has

taught me. DONT HOLD YOUR BREATHE!!!! She may be giddy and great right now

but who knows what in six months, a year...It wont remain. It took me 24 years

tp figur out nada cant change so I guess it wil take tori another ten too. I

just hurt knowinng she will be disapointed. Again, and again, and again....

Could you tell Tori what you just wrote? I bet you and I would have loved

someone to tell us the real deal on our nada.

Just a thought from someone who has been there,
