I do not have a digital recorder, bit I do have several tape ones left from when

I was a corporate

manager. I don't intend to ask for permission, I intend to tell them that I am

taping, period.

" My pain issues sometimes make it difficult for me to concentrate and remember

conversations. I

will be taping this so that I have a record of what we discussed. " If they

refuse to allow you to

tape, you might have a case relative to the accommodation clauses of certain

disabilities acts.

Whether taping someone is legal or illegal depends upon what state you are in.

Check the laws of

your state regarding recording a conversation with another person.

Hi Kaylene,

this link will take you to a post that I found interesting.

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/chronic_pain/message/32398

I have listened to a few recordings over and over, especially one of

a very good specialist that read my MRI films X-rays, and CT

meylogram, and then gave me his opinion of my condition and what to

expect in the future. He was taping the visit as well.

I would use a recording as proof, if I was lied to by a nurse

or DR. It is hard to challenge a person's integrity when the truth

of what was said is recorded. People in general think that a person

that takes a large daily dose of narcotics can't be trusted. I may

make more mistakes, and forget exactly what was said too, so a

recording can have many uses.

Cheers,

Mark
