Behavior equals communication.

Have you guys had any down time at all, or has it been rush rush rush? Try taking a few days to 'just be' and then start a routine with him...10 weeks without Dad is pretty traumatic for a kid, especially when they can't SAY how they feel.

gets pretty agitated when he's scared, but can't say 'I'm scared' so he acts out...I'm finding recently that I can ask him 'are you afraid?' and he yells back at me 'YES!" Then I can ask him why, what, etc then it's kinda like him talking it out without him having to use so many words that he can't come up with.

[DownSyndromeInfoExchange] Need help with my son

Hello Ladies,

I am in need of some help with my son - .

We have relocated to FL from PA and is having alot of tantrums (more than normal). My dh was separated from the family for 10 weeks and in that time had surgery on his ear, our house was packed up and moved. The children and I stayed at our PA house for 2 weeks without anything in the house. Then the children and I drove to FL from OH. I know that this is alot for a child to understand and to become adjusted to BUT the tantrums are driving the whole family crazy. I am not sure as to what to do! I use to be able to take him to the store or out of a walk and not have the tantrums but he is screaming, hitting and sticking his tongue out at everyone. He refuses to let the kids help him it has to be me and on occasion his sister. AND he only wants to watch TV all day and gets mad if he does not get his way.

Any help would be appreciated.
