Guest guest
Dear Group, For those members who are prescribed prednisone, it is important to be aware of the risks and side effects. This link is one of the best I've seen: http://www.gihealth.com/html/education/drugs/printable/printPrednisone.html I would not want to take prednisone as a first medication for EN. The less dangerous potassium iodide (SSKI) would be my choice if I was unable or unwilling to get bedrest and leg elevation. I know that many doctors prescribe prednisone immediately. They figure a small amount for a short time is ok. In theory it probably is not harmful, but we have quite a few members recently have reported that once the drug was stopped the EN came back with a vengeance. I hope all members will take advantage of our Database on Treatments. Please, if you have not done so already, go to the Database on the Group site and add your info. If you cannot, send the info to me and I will be happy to add it. Love,
