Guest guest
Hi Vicki,You wouldn't happen to have that paper available, would you? The only information I can find on cod liver oil and yeast is that cod liver oil/fish oil can actually be helpful due to it's anti-inflammatory actions. Do you recall what brand you were using and whether it was liquid or capsules? Some of the liquids and capsules do have alot of other stuff added that might aggravate yeast overgrowth or cause symptoms that are similar. Some of them I have found have sweetners like mannitol and sorbitol. I have severe (GI) reactions to both of those. Higher levels of fish oil can result in some GI symptoms. Another thought would be that if it's a brand that hasn't been tested for heavy metals. Unfortunately, alot of fish contains high levels of heavy metals - mercury in particular. Heavy metals can be the root cause for chronic yeast overgrowth in many folks. The reason I am so curious is that fungal overgrowth is one of my biggest issues and I haven't seen the correlation with the cod liver oil - I take Carlson's lemon cod liver oil liquid. Be well, B. I really appreciate your reply. But I tried cod liver oil before, granted, it was another brand, and it made my yeast go NUTS. Later I read a paper that said cod liver oil would do that to leaky gut yeast overgrowth. ?? Man, it was really bad. I thought I'd never get back to where I was when I took it. So I hesitate to try your suggestion, even though all fish oil is oil!!!! Silly, isn't it??? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever!!!! (making circles around side of head! HA). I am glad they work for you, and I wrote it down so I may need to try it later. So thanks, Amy! Bless you, Vicki
