Guest guest
I'm new to this site. In 2004, I got very sick and ended up in the hospital. They jump started my body with massive amount of steriods and after 5 days in ICU, I lived. They didn't know what was wrong with me when they discharged me. Two weeks later I got a call from the Health Department saying I had HepC. I didn't know what that meant and started looking on line. The hospital which is part of the health care system for poor people informed me, " They didn't help people with Hep C and had no solutions for me. " I tried to go back to the health dept. for answers and they sat me in a room full of people who were getting tested for teburculosis. I left quickly cause I didn't want to get TB. I just went home and did the best I could at getting well. So far it is working. I found a doctor who will help me with the symptoms. Even he doesn't want to discuss the Hep C and won't test my blood. Is everyone on this site wealthy to afford treatment? Do you all live in big cities? I live in a mid- sized city and can't believe the attitude towards this virus. Thought I would tell you about the " WhyQuit.com " website for all the people who want to quit smoking. I smoked for 35 plus years and was able to quit with the help of this website. I have been smoke free for 16 months. The health benefits from quitting is amazing. Every month I have felt better and better. Give it a try. Sorry this is so long winded. I haven't had anyone to talk to, even my friends who know I have HepC, don't want to discuss it with me. Hope to be able to talk with you all some more soon. Jo
