Guest guest
I, too, had jitters about starting the Cytomel, but have had no problem increasing to 25 mcg rather quickly. I do take it with food, so that slows down the absorption. I also divide it into three doses. I will stay at this dose for 6-8 weeks, so that we can have accurate Free T4 and TSH levels. As a thyca patient, I am also concerned about possibly coming out if suppression in the process. We last saw a measurable TSH when I was on 225 mcg of $ynthroid. >> Like Jan, I was recently prescribed T3 by Dr. Spurlock, rather than upping my P-thyroid any more, since my Reverse T3 is very high, more than twice his limit. I was also told to back off my P-thyroid a bit and start with 5mcg and work up to 15mcg in the first phase. I will start it soon, and go slowly to try to overcome my jitters about going hyper, but not quite ready to deal with it yet. Maybe after the holidays.> > The aggressive increase in my iron supplementation has finally gotten my % iron sat up to 29% from never getting above 23% after 5 years, and I've increased again the last two weeks trying to get closer to his goal in the 30s %. I did notice a very nice increase in stamina and overall sense of well being. I've been able to go longer and stay stronger than before the time I started declining in health in 2002.> > Progesterone got upped to tackle spotting, still might have to deal with the underlying infection issue, but nothing suggested yet. Change in tri-est delivery form seemed to nicely improve libido. > > Still happy to be with Dr. Spurlock. He spends a great deal of time talking about the labs and strategies, but has also spent a lot of time talking to me like a friend about some external stressful issues affecting my health progress. Very good person.> > Sara>
