Guest guest
My Nate had both PT and OT discontinued at around 18 months of age. They did come out again to reevaluate and he was still on target and doing well in these areas. The school system evaluated him prior to turning 3 and agree that these services are not needed. His Special Education Early Childhood teacher states they are keeping a close eye on him in regards to OT need and she has had several times the OT take a peek at him informaling to see what she thinks. So far they don't feel he needs these services. He only has ST 1:1 for 50 minutes during the week which is broken up between the 3 short mornings he attends preschool. Honestly, I don't think these services are needed at this time ethier and am pleased they are keeping an eye on it. I did buy a loop sissors for Nate to use at home and he is doing a pretty good job on it. Working on a pencil grasp too at home. Because Nate doesn't turn 4 till 6 days after the Sept 1 cut off date he misses out on Adaptive Gym this year but should be able to get it next year. Oh well, he still goes to gym everyweek he just doesn't get the more tailored one on one for him.
