It's hanging in the center of our family room. We added structural support above the ceiling tied to existing structure and screwed in with a steel plate etc. The swing can be hooked and unhooked if you get tired of a swing in your room (we just tie it up, not take it down most of the time.) Will hold 200 lbs or so. Need to just make sure it is secure and tied to structure. You can get a carpenter to do it if you don't have the tools or experience. Guest guest
Dear Friends, I have an URGENT request. I have an appoinment tomorrow (Wed.) morning & will be given a choice of which doctor I can go see about my spine. I have scoliosis, have been off work approx. 7 yrs. due to an injury, & now am developing symptoms of flatback syndrome. I would like to know the name of the BEST facility/doctor closest to me. I live in WV - nobody here even has a clue what flatback is, so I know I'll need to go out of state. PLEASE, any help you guys can give me will be much appreciated. With Blessings & Love, Carla Kay ~ Ps. 96:1 O come let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Guest guest
Hi, Maybe Washington D.C. is a workable location for you....My son has scoliosis and we are very pleased with his surgeon - he does extensive revision surgeries and when I attended a scoliosis conference put on by the Scoliosis Assn a couple of years ago, his topic was all about revision surgery. In addition to being a very excellent surgeon, he is personable! Dr. C. Lauerman town University Hospital Chief of Spinal Surgery 202-687-0655 If you would like additional information please email me and feel free to use my name if you call there if you'd like to. Good luck, Knighton
Guest guest
Dear Carla Kay, Hopefully you can get the name of someone closer than this (I think can give you a site where you can look up scoli drs. geographically), but if not, and you were willing to travel this far, I can personally recommend Hamill, M.D., Chief of Spine Surgery, Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY. I, too, have flatback, saw Dr. Hamill last week, asked him how many flatback revisions he has done, and he said 30-35. He made the statement that he would be considered among the " top 10 in the country " , but I'm not sure exactly what he meant by that (top 10 in terms of # of operations, or what?). Just in case, here is his info: Hamill, M.D. 100 College Park Drive ville, NY 14221 (716) 204-0487. Best of luck, mary b Re: Digest Number 710 Dear Friends, I have an URGENT request. Guest guest
Hi Carla Kay and , Dr. Hamill did his Fellowship with Bridwell in St. Louis, which would certainly have given him adequate training to treat someone with a prior fusion. Good luck with getting an appointment. Guest guest
I buy my flour from places that sell "unbleached" "unbromated" flour in bags labeled this way. I'm also in the goiter belt in Wisconsin, and don't know the specific iodine content of the milk I drink. I do know the farmer supplements his soil. This article http://www.raw-milk-facts.com/what_is_in_raw_milk.html says raw milk typically contains 254 ug Iodine. nne Re: Digest Number 705 Posted by: " Parashis" artpages@... elizabethparashis Thu Feb 8, 2007 6:42 am (PST) How can you tell if the four is unbromated? Also, how do you know if your raw milk has iodine? Have you asked your dairyperson? Do they add it into the soil or is it naturally there? I use Organic Pastures raw milk but haven't asked. California is in the goiter belt with some exceptions. On Feb 6, 2007, at 5:35 PM, ROSANNE LINDSAY wrote:> Today, I had my phone consult with Dr. Flechas reagrding my iodine > loading test through FFP labs, which showed that after a year of > dosing Lugol's at 2 drops/day I am only 50% sufficient.
