Welcome. We are happy to have you join. It sounds like your life is

full. I can relate to all you said, having 4 special needs boys

myself. My husband has diabetes, high blood, passing out spells, and

has had some depression. He's doing o.k.I know what you mean by it

being hard to find someone else with so many dissabilities in one

family, and I've had people tell me oh there are alot of kids that

talk late, or tantrums are normal in toddlers, and so on. The best

one is Oh they will grow out of it. This one comes from family

members, butwell intentioned, I'm sure.I just learned how to do the

brushing therapy recently. We started it about a couple weeks ago. At

first, my little guys got a little worse, but I was told this

happens, to keep on doing the brushing. After the first week, they

are settled down. My 4 yr old brings the brush to me when he starts

to get hyper and agitated. You should check with an ot to learn the

proper way, but it does work. As for the weighted vests, I have yet

to try, but I have heard from other mothers that they really

calm. Some of the vests can be quite expensive, but I've heard from

other moms that they made one. One mom took and old t-shirt and sewed

some pockets on front and bac and put weight in them and sewed shut

and said it worked fine. I tried buying some ankle weights and wrist

weights to try and my guys love them. So I figure if those helped,

maybe I should invest in a vest or make one myself. We just bought

one of those inflateable bouncy things, and my kids jump and bounce

on it. It helps them get rid of some of that excess energy and they

love it. Hope all this helps. I have instructions on brushing and the

precautions. If you are interrested, let me know, and I'll be happy

to email them to you.God bless Sharon
