Guest guest
I was initially informed of the s Hopkins study by Dr. Mott, a pediatric neurologist who specializes in autism. I will try to adequately and accurately convey the jist of the study. 1) An initial audiotaped interview pertaining to the child who was diagnosed with autism prior to the sibling entering formally into the study. I believe this is when the sibling is 6 months old. 2) Written screening evaluations for developmental assessments of the sibling at several stages, beginning with 6 months old and ending at 3 years old. 3) Videotaped assessment and testing at four stages, if I remember correctly (you'd think I would, but...) at 9, 14, 24, and 36 months at their Baltimore, MD location. The study is conducted by Dr. Landa, with Gleeson (443) 923-7586 serving as the current supervisor. The goal of the study is to find early warning signs to enable pediatricians and other professionals to diagnose and subsequently treat autism at an earlier age, given the documented evidence of early intervention success. They are excited about receiving more candidates for the study! It has been a pleasure for us to participate with such a caring and devoted staff. Best Regards, Tamara P.S.
