Guest guest
hi.... noise noise noise! my attention this morning at my libray computer was interupted by some vacuum cleaning tech rep who was doing maintanance upon a nearby copier. I have Come To the Conclusion, folks, that most people LOVE noise! i can not recall how many many times have i sat in cafes and places where i have to SCREAM to my tablemate just to be heard! ---those " quiet " delecatesions??...why with four to fifteen COOLERS and refrigerations units going all it once these places have the charm of the back seat of a 747, for quietness! but i think that actually most people like that! now ME......i would prefer a decabal level of ZERO.... imagine a windless country road where there is not a car for ten miles....only a far off cry of a bird frames the vast open quiet space. [i read once of how to tell if a person is a country person or a city person....simple; do they turn anything that makes noise or sound ON when they come home?] ---i think that most people are the city people! with me...i find that i seem to have limited space on my brain hard drive and just like those background programs that always run in the background behind your major computer project....they take up processing space. why some of those computer programs will FILL your processor to the point that all slows to nothin! same with at least my brain. sound fills. fills the space of counsciousness. takes the place of anything else coming in. if there is enough noise and sound in the air...that is all there is...that is all i am aware of, no matter what it is that is supposed to be there...like of a loud fan at the table conversation...the fan comes first and if there is any room left for the conversation, then i can attend to THAT! i do not see why other people do not sense this?! most seem to actually USE noise to lift them up in counsciousness, like drugs are supposed to! but of course, with me, smells and other sense things do this too...like those DISLIKED ceiling fans in some resturants! why they spin over the lights and thus i sit in a strobe-o-scope-ic light show! flicker flicker...the wonder of it is is why do not children have seizures in cafes with these... -----and no one notices but me........... and the background music...why the other day they played... " nervious breakdown in E# major " i was " climbing the wall " but everyone ate onwards, utterly oblivious!! ---and one of the reasons why i moved to the deep south is that COLD FILLS!! the feeling of cold cold cold leaves no room for any other perception....every moment every second is nothing but blue cold ongoing every instant of awareness!!! yes folks...these are the laments of a aspie person... yes " they " tell me to " shut it out " ... but can they even imagine how i can not...if i could do that...i would have to hit my head with a baseball bat and knock myself out first! sound and light and smells...etc...etc...ARE part of cousciousness, when they appear. so i will take my asper thank you...as i most appreciate the OTHER side of the coin...being able to be aware of interestingly subtle things that no one else notices... ---freestone ===== seen on a bridge overpass, in Rochester, ny 1970 ....
