Guest guest
October 2010, on 4.5 grains of ERFA T4,Free(Direct) 1.94 high (0.82-1.77) T3,Free 5.7 high (2.0-4.4) These results were really out of the blue since I have been on 4.5 grains for 5 years and have never been over the range. I decided to only drop my dose by 1/4 grain and retest in a couple of months. February 2011, on 4.25 grains of ERFA Free T4 by Dialysis/Mass Spec 1.1 normal (0.8 - 1.7) Note that I took the dialysis test here. Now I know that the dialysis test is usually going to show a lower result because it filters out the Hashi antibodies but this is a huge drop. I am only 33% in the range.....and I FEEL like it, because my feet are ice cold. What is going on here? Is it possible to get lab results that are wrong? Or can other things drive up the regular Free tests? Can Hashis drive up the regular free tests this much? Or maybe the labs have changed the way they do the tests in the last couple of years that is yielding higher results for the regular frees. Any advice on where to go from here would be helpful. Guest guest
Did you take your meds before the blood draw? Both Free T3 and Free T4 willl be higher if you did. The one time my doctor asked me to have a late afternoon blood draw, Free T3 and Free T4 were both 20% higher than usual. The other thing that can change your results is taking your last dose at night. Some folks need their Free T3 and Free T4 to be over range to feel well. If you are on a dose where you feel well, a good doc will not make you reduce it because of the numbers. Of course, those docs are hard to find. Who is the doc that prescribed the ERFA for you? >> October 2010, on 4.5 grains of ERFA> > T4,Free(Direct) 1.94 high (0.82-1.77)> T3,Free 5.7 high (2.0-4.4)> > These results were really out of the blue since I have been on 4.5 grains for 5 years and have never been over the range. Guest guest
I ate a meal at big meal at about 7:30 at night and then took 2 grains after the meal and then went to bed about 11 at night. Blood draw about 9 in the morning. No meds before the blood draw unless I really spaced things out. Maybe it was taking meds after a big meal at night before bed. Maybe they did not get digested until much later. My Doc does not practice in TX. > > > > October 2010, on 4.5 grains of ERFA > > > > T4,Free(Direct) 1.94 high (0.82-1.77) > > T3,Free 5.7 high (2.0-4.4) > > > > These results were really out of the blue since I have been on 4.5 > grains for 5 years and have never been over the range.
