Debi,

My daughter is a 5th grader in a Catholic school and has aspergers.

this school isn't real crazy about having kids with disabilities

attend but they are putting up with my child. what is the school in

TN that encourages them? I am in North Alabama and would be willing

to take a trip and talk to the school and see how they manage.

, mom to (11, aspergers) (4 1/2) and (30

mos)

I don't really know. I doubt it is Sacred Heart. There is a catholic academy

somewhere in Knox. It might be what you are looking for. You could call and

check. Sorry.

Okay, I totally messed this one up. There is a school, but it's a

PRESCHOOl, 0-5 yrs old, and Methodist, not Catholic. It begins with

a " St " and since Craig's boss' wife is Catholic, I assumed it was a

Catholic school. She also told me that the children who have left to

attend local Knox Co school have had very good services, but I'm sure

that's only with whom you talk. However, the Catholic disability

group does exist, she told me to contact any local Catholic church in

the area and they could tell me just who to contact.

I'm sorry I got anyone's hopes up, Craig talked as if it was a school-

aged school. If anyone still wants the preschool info, I'll be happy

to post it. Ann did say they strongly welcome any child with

disabilities, however they still must go outside the school for

therapy. They do offer full intergration for those children who

attend.

I guess I'll learn one day to quit listening to my husband... you'd

think after nine years of marriage I would have learned that one, lol.
