Guest guest
Hi & Group, Just wanted to let you know that I saw the rheumtologist yesterday and she was surprised to see my legs looking so bad. Anyway, she is not sure why, but in similar cases of patients who had a colostomy or illiostomy, the panniculitis or auto-immune disease would go into remission. It is thought that when the colon was reconnected and the auto-immune disease acted up again, it is because of bacteria in the colon. The body then trys to fight it but attacks other parts of the body instead, such as the fat in the lower legs or the joints in rheumatoid arthritis. Because she wants to ween me off prednisone and keep me on a higher dose of Cyclosporin she sent me for blood work to make sure that the kidneys are functioning ok. I will hear from her by tomorrow and she will let me know what dosage she wants me to take. I would love to get rid of prednisone and was wondering if anyone else had any success with Cyclosporin. Please let me know if you have any input on this drug and it's positive or negative side effects. Thanks, Jackie S.
