Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am a medical transcriptionist, which I've said in the past regarding certain testing questions....but anyway.....I transcribe from home for a hospital and do all different radiology transcription for all different age groups and races....well today, something interesting came across, I thought so anyway.....So far I have typed (I'm looking on my notebook) 22 patient's...3 of them have been children with developmental delays, one specified ADHD with learning disabilities, the other two not specified. One that I just finished was 19 months old with delays and seizure disorder, with one fixed pupil that has now resolved. These children were all having their heads/brains scanned for any problems. This last child, the 19 month old did have white matter changes way more prominent for the age. Just thought I'd mention this to other parents and being the parent of an autistic 5 year old. What percentage of "developmentally delayed" would this equal out to, 3 out of 22 people. Not even all children. This has not been a common thing to type. I've listened to so many different reports for children, all different studies, BUT the brain scans are getting more common, AND the diagnosis is more common....developmental delay.....I wonder how many more I will type today.......I think I'm starting to not like my job so much........
