Guest guest
Ya know, it feels sorta anticlimactic to post a 2-year update. Im not losing anymore weight and everything is just " normal " . But I guess that is worth sharing right? My PTH is elevated again but I stopped taking my rx Vitamin D and switched to water miscule ADEKs and I guess that isn't enough for me. So back on the rx I go. Other then that my blood work was perfect. Cholesterol was a little low at 112 and my billirubin was a bit high (they are going to check that again in a few weeks) but otherwise, the picture of health! Gas seems to be getting a bit better. It's related to " how much white stuff " I eat now vs ANY white flour products. I am one of the lucky ones. I eat whatever I want. Sugar is my " lever " as puts it. When I put on a few lbs, I simply cut back the refined sugar for a few days and my weight goes back down. I'm eating around 3K calories a day. My weight fluctuates in a 10 lb range. I am finally all healed from my plastic surgery in Brazil. That really was the " icing on the cake " for me. I feel great about my body. Sure, I'd still like to do a few more nips and tucks… but overall, I'm pleased with how I look now. My mom had a laparoscopic DS in Brazil in August. She was a lightweight with a bmi of 34 but horrible comorbids and her BMI is now a 24 and she's very healthy. My father, who is also a lightweight, is now considering the DS to cure his Diabetes and stop the progression of renal insufficiency. This surgery has made such a difference to my family. Anyway… 2 years and still chalking this up as one of the best decisions of my life. --Kym from BMI of 50 to a BMI of 27 Open DS; Dr. Keshishian 6/5/02 TAH/BSO 2/14/03 TT/BL/Jaw Lipo Brazil; 8/15/03 DS Clearinghouse info: http://wlsinfo.blogspot.com My blog: http://www.emundane.blogspot.com My DS profile: http://www.duodenalswitch.com/Patients/Kymberly/kymberly.html
