We are billing to insurance as most plans

consider this “medical” and not “transplant”

IVIG

is considered treatment therefore it should never be billed to the cost

report. In this case the patients insurance needs to be billed.

Hi ,

IVIG is a treatment and treatment costs are

not allowable costs on the Cost Report. The PRA’s that are needed

as a result of the treatment are allowable.

Hope this helps,

Thanks,

Bill

Are you using the IVIG for PRA reduction before transplant for LRD? If so, can

someone please share the Diagnoses code used please. I am somewhat new to the

world of transplant and was asked to find out if ins pays for this for PRA

reduction.

Thanks for any help.
