Dear Andy and All-

My son's most recent test has two results for his urine copper---

..231 ug/mg creatinine Ref Range=.011-.048 >>>>Very high

AND

..064mg/24hour Ref Range=.011-.068>>>>WNL

is 6 years old and weighs 50 lbs.

I am assuming that the first (ug/mg creatinine) is the one to go by and that

we still (after 7 long months) cannot yet start adding the ALA. (Sigh) What

are your suggestions to bring this copper level down??

We are doing 100mg DMSA q4h 3on/4off + " the supplements "

Hair or urine copper. Blood copper is not useful.

Since most of the norms are for adults, you probably should use the

copper/creatinine result. Or you could divide the 24 hour result by

his weight, multiply by 150, and thus convert it to an equivalent adult

result.
