Guest guest
, When are you doing the urine tests? After my son's initial challenge test which showed high mercury, the next three (done every 3 rounds) showed no detectable level of mercury, although high levels of other toxic metals coming out. We had been doing the tests on the day after chelation (on the 3 days on /11 off cycle) This last test I did on the 2nd day of chelation and mercury showed back up. I think mercury may be coming out in the initial days and by the 4th day whatever's coming out that round is gone. The other thing to consider is that many knowledgeable people say that when mercury is tightly bound in the tissues, you may not see anything for a few cycles and then a whole bunch as the body suddenly dumps it,Also the stool test is supposed to show much more mercury than the urine test. That's the test I'm doing next to see. In a message dated 3/8/2001 2:26:13 PM Eastern Standard Time, vic2171@... writes: << i. Does anyone have any idea why the mercury has stopped coming out and what we can do - i.e., adjust the chelation protocol, etc. We are using both DMSA and ALA. Guest guest
When ALA was added to Dr Amy's sons mix...the metals dropped in the urine test too. But when she tested the stool...she said it was all there! So get a fecal metals test kit from DDl and test the stool!

It seems that metabolic priorities may shift for some reason. Watching a full panel of metals in urine and stool often reveals an interesting response. Mercury excretion levels may drop and other levels (As, Sn, Pb) may alternately rise temporarily, later shifting back to higher Hg excretion levels. Dr. B. Guest guest
BTW. I have observed that excretion of Hg measured in urine [comparatively] declines and stool excretion increases when using ALA. Guest guest
Can someone tell me the cost for this test? Guest guest
Dear , DDI's list price for fecal toxic elements is $178. However, I'm not sure-- I think they may give a lower price if the doctor pays them when the sample is submitted. I've had 2 people explain this to me and I still am not clear on the prices in that case. DDI: (800) 323-2784 (Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, central time) www.doctorsdata.com Moria ============================================================= At 09:13 AM 3/9/2001 -0500, you wrote: > Can someone tell me the cost for this test? Guest guest
Here are your options: 1.) The list price for the fecal elements test from DDI is $178. 2.) The professional price for the same test is $89 when ordered by a physician. 3.) You can get the same test (performed by DDI) through Direct Laboratory Services (www.healthchoice.net, 877-339-2444) for $139. Ordering through DLS does not require an office visit to order the test and another to receive the results. You may order over the phone and the specimen kit will be sent to your home, as will the results when the test is complete. Interpretation, if needed, is available by phone. 4.) The test is not available in New York. Dr. B. Director of Research Direct Laboratory Services, Inc. Remove exposure or do anything to start mercury moving and it goes down for about 3 months, then comes back up and slowly declines again. What seems to be happening is that there is a polymorphism in mercury handling in the population, where some people's internal organs hold on to the stuff but most don't. Those who hold it are the ones who get sick from exposure levels that don't bother most people. A couple of cases like this even show up in the regular medical literature in papers where the half life for mercury excretion is being determined and enough data is presented to tell what happened with each subject. The occasional subject who has the " double humped " excretion pattern is never discussed. I don't know WHAT causes this fall and rise in mercury excretion (the rest of the toxics seem to just come out right up front) but it is almost always seen in mercury toxic people. In fact it is so uniform it is discussed on page 52 of my book so people won't get sucked into harmful and dangerous therapies (DMPS injections, DMSA every other day or every 8 hours, chlorella, NAC, glutathione) by their physicians who take credit for the rise in mercury excretion when it would have happened anyway. Guest guest
if you are using ALA and DMSA, maybe you should check the stool. Dr Amy has said that once you add ALA it is primarily excreted in the stool. Val
