Guest guest
I was just thinking this morning that a fax might be the best way to communicate with him between appointments rather than rely on a nurse with a phone message. Did you see him in person to request the change from cytomel to the WIP? Or was that by fax, too?I think you said, but what type of reaction did you have to the cytomel? My hands and feet have been freezing, but I am trying to make it a full 12 weeks on T3 only because I have read that is how long it takes to clear receptors of RT3. If I feel well I am willing to stay on T3, but I may request going back to a small dose t4 with or without t3 to see how I do. I am just happy to feel more normal again! And the bloated belly is even a bit better already. Sent from Grace's iPhone If you are talking about Spurlock, he was willing to write Cytomel for me, because I do not do well on timed release meds. But then, I had a reaction to the fillers in the Cytomel and requested compounded T3 in oil capsules. He called them into WIP on Friday and I had them by Monday!) They are working great. Since then, I have had to cut back the T3 and add in more ERFA, because I have been having a problem with wound healing and also having hypothyroid symptoms, mainly feeling cold on 150 mg ERFA plus 25 mcg T3. Now on 240 mg of ERFA plus 15 mcg of the T3, I am doing better on all fronts. Since I will not see him until February, I will send him a fax and tell him what I am doing and why, as I do not want to be labeled a non-compliant patient. > > > The doctor said my pregnenolone and aldosterone were fine and didn't recommend supplementing. My cortisol was in range low normal (11:00 am), but ACTH was just out of range high. DHEA and all those things were good according to the doc.> > > > > > I tried to tell him I am super sensitive to medication and that I wanted to try other things first, but he strongly suggested that he thought I really needed the HC. I know when I've tried licorice or adrenal extracts in the past I have ended up not being able to sleep. I wonder if there is another avenue or issue not yet addressed. > > > > I wonder what having my Free T3 way over range for 6-9 months did to my adrenals. Guest guest
I’ve done that before. It works pretty well. I usually call the nurse and tell them that I’m faxing a note for the doctor so that the FAX doesn’t get lost. I seem to be on the upswing! The new treatment plan seems to be agreeing with me. YEAH! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll keep improving. I’m baby stepping through the changes and keeping notes on when and what I’ve changed. Then I followed up with a phone call to confirm that he was indeed in the office and had gotten the fax. That is the best way to communicate with docs who do not do email. Phone messages are a joke. I got the same reaction to the Cytomel as I have from several other drugs: an irritated urinary tract which feels like a bad infection. I would note that the WIP T3 in oil worked better than the Cytomel. > > > > > > > The doctor said my pregnenolone and aldosterone were fine and didn't recommend supplementing.
