how long befor seeing results with meds?

Hi we have had my son on a atipical antidepressant medicine for 3

weeks now .We started him on a low dose and we saw no improvement the

Dr. upped it yesterday and he seems much more aggitated today.I want

to stop and take a break to get it out of his system and try somthing

else is this to soon to quit ? I have a message in to the Dr. but I

dont know if shell agree .
