Debi dont let others think about medication make you feel guilty about giving

it. You do what YOU need to do for YOUR child. If I were in your position I

to would probably use medication if I had exhausted all other posabilities.

My opinion is that if gives your child a chance at functioning better then by

all means do it. Not only are you happier but what a relief for the child.

Oh , I hope things improve. Maybe the new Meds will make an improvement.

Do you think the season change has anything to do with it? Abby's behavoir

over the last week has been so bad, back to tamtrums and pinching and lots of

yelling.I notice that we go through this when there is a season change. I

hope all gets better for you soon. Did the doctor say how long before you

should see an improvement with the medication? Wasent she on Paxil before?

Maybe not, I cant keep everyone straight.

Maybe Sondra or Kassiene will have some advice for ya.

Dear Pennie,

has had bouts of aggression over the past school year off and on.

This month has been exceptionally trying as her aggressive incidents had

really intensified and were more clustered together over the past 3 weeks.

Her aggression comes out of nowhere and she can be right in the middle of

enjoying a pleasurable activity at school kike listening to her CD's. As she

is 14 and weighs 100 lbs., it can take up to 4 adults to help calm her down

and I know the staff in my daughter's class are very caring and have put up

with alot. We decided not to go with the wellbutrin and just started Buspar

today.

Hi !

You said you noticed a change in the past three weeks, could the

longer days and warmer weather be a factor?

shows signs of aggression as well, especially during time and

weather changes. Spring and Fall are the big ones. Now that the clocks will

have to be put ahead that will ball her up good. The days are getting longer so

her sleep schedule gets disrupted.

A behaviorist came to 's school and observed her with her peers

and teachers and have come up with a fairly successful plan to stop her hitting.

We have an appointment with said behaviorist soon ourselves. seemed

pretty calm with Benadryl, but with PMS comes more aggression. She is late a

week already, and she has swings of laughing then crying. Feel really bad for

her. My daugher is 159 lbs and 13, so she is a big girl too, so when she

wallops someone THEY FEEL IT!!

Let me know how she does with the Buspar. That is one med we have not

used on .

Good luck. I can really relate to your problem.

Hi et al.,

My niece takes Buspar for generalized anxiety disorder. It does take

awhile to see results as brain serotonin levels gradually shift, maybe

3 0r 4 weeks. She also had a lot of side effects, but stuck with it

anyway and feels tons better now.

Dear ,

Yes, we had considered the cluster of aggression as maybe being exposed

to mold and mildew which is pretty high here in SE PA. I tried Zyrtec, but

that seemed to make her even more whacky. We are trying a homopathic nose

spray along with the Buspar to see if this helps.

has a behavior specialist that is in her classroom 3 days a week

and they have changed her program so many times to help decrease her need to

strike out or grab her teachers very roughly. Poor things have lots of

bruises to show for it.

Hi , I really understand what you're going through. I am reading the

posts on the Buspar like you are. I don't have on any meds, but at

times feel like she SHOULD be on them. Her period is a week late now, the

teacher said they can definitely see a difference in her when the PMS starts.

I don't have much to tell you, but that I can really empathize with your

situation. I feel bad for those teachers and aides as well, they EARN their

money with . I feel terrible, but we are working as a team to remedy the

problem.

It's the med, Mel! Wellbutrin is know to help with obsessive-compulsive

behavior and it is used successfully in smoking cessation.
