I am afraid my labs will be low, as I am having palpatations. I'm

supposed to find a GI doc and see if the Menetriere's disease is still

present and

affecting my situation. I'm scared to death right now because the only

person(Jo's daddy) I ever heard of in this situation developed cancer and

died within a

year. I assumed it was ended with the DS, but maybe it is still affecting

me.....

Hi Guys,

This was supposed to be a private post to a....Well, It didn't work

that way...LOL. I guess I can fill the rest of you in. Kind of afraid of

being called a Hypochondriac. Seems like with my life , anything that can go

wrong

will....Know what I mean?

I am waiting on a GI consultation to a GI doc at UAB. I am having trouble

finding a doc with knowledge of a DS revision AND Menetriere's disease. My

PCP is out of town for at least another week and I don't know where to turn...I

hate to go to a Doc in the box but might have to.

My labs were low post op Hyst, they had increased with the B12 infusions

and the iron infusions. The more I researched the more the menetriere's

disease kept coming up. Not lots but lots of the same info over and over. So I

started looking at the problems and talked to Jo. Her daddy is the only person I

have ever known of who had this syndrome. Since the surgery I assumed the

Menetriere's was a think of the past but e-mailed Dr. K and was told that I

might

need an endoscopy to see what the problem is and if the syndrome is

contributing. Didn't know it was going to take weeks and an act of congress!!

So I am trying to get the appointment made. I e-mailed Dr. K and asked if

he could help and I'm waiting to see what he said. So the waiting continues.

On a lighter note, I will have drug coverage this week!! That will save

us 300+ a month on meds and I can go back to the better meds that cost a little

more. Maybe I will start sleeping again...LOL. I'll be able to get the

zanaflex again....One more big bill to take care of and maybe things will get

better

moneywise. Hopefully by next month things will lighten enough that money

won't be daily(Hourly) worry! Cross your fingers that the truck hold up a while

and no major incidents with stuff breaking down! Tuesday I'm going to take a

leap of faith that the money will be good for a few months and pay my worst bill

off.

Went to a PS on Tuesday and got a " estimate on the " damages " and it looks

like a body lift will not be in my future barring a miracle! The total after

insurance pays 900 dollars on a pannie is 18K....That is for

everything..Boobs, arms, body but not thighs. I guess I will live with droopy

saggy skin or

seriously consider the " extreme makeover " ....LOL (What? Me and 40,000 other wls

pts? He made it sound so good he said it would " tighten my clothes " . He said

they'd submit insurance, but after years he's only seen a few get lucky and get

approval for most of it and almost never the mastoplexy(Boob). It sounds like

a good deal but I don't see it happening. I was so depressed last week. Amber

has told me about her doc at UAB so maybe I can find a doc who is willing to

do a decent job on a pannie and extend the incision so I won't end up with

overhang on the hips....

So that's my life....Hopefully things will get better!

Amber And friends....

Maybe the Hyst is helping! My HGB today was 12! I've never stayed a 12 for

long if I ever got there.....LOL. The B12 level and iron are pending. My BP

was sky high, so I have a new med. The heart palpitations continue. I'm just

relieved to know it's not my Blood being low.

I will have my Gastro appointment tomorrow. So maybe I will get answers

about the syndrome.

Oh, And about you PS, I spoke with a nurse for a local WL surgon and got

rave reviews about him.... If the other guy won't fight for me, I'm going to

see

him.

Oh Mel, if it's not one thing it's another isn't it? Sorry you're

going through so much. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Glad to

hear you're getting the money for meds at least!

Hugs!
