Guest guest
Ok...how can you tell if your child is going through puberty or early puberty? My son, since age 8 (10yrs now)started developing SIB and impulsive aggression(pinch, scratch, kick)being destructive. It's been just lately that these behaviors have returned.I went through many different meds with him and probably the only one that did anything to at least stop the SIB was Buspirone.I got an email from another mom that asked if he was active (sports etc)and that it's a way of boys releasing all that energy.I got to thinking,he has been really " hyper " and I've always tried to take him to the park or something just to run and yell as loud as he wants to since we live in a townhome and not anywhere for him to just run free. And he's constantly got his hand down his pants. He's been really agitated and aggressive here lately. I've not found a sport for him that he is interested in enough to engage yet.I tried baseball (challenger league) but he didn't seem to like it when they got him out there to hit the ball. He's not really consistant at following direction so he needs 1:1 help to motor him through the physical part.I'm still looking at some other activities but I was just wondering what other parents had experienced once they realized their son was hitting puberty. Thanks in advance, Stacey
