Guest guest
Welcome to the board. I'm 60 years old soon to be 61. Does that make you feel any more comfortable. I have only been here a couple of months, but the posts have been wonderful for me. They validate so many things about my experience with my mother. They keep me on track with my resolve to become more emotionally healthy and refuse to be a victim any more. Again WELCOME!!! Be good to yourself, Dee
Guest guest
Hello everyone, I guess i'll start off by asking 2 little questionsm any answers at all would be great.. im pretty lost right now. And totally new to this: Has anyone else taken potassium iodide for this, and if so, has it done anything for you? And also, what is the best way to keep the swelling down.. and am I being a baby about this or is it possible for me to still work 8 hour retail shifts standing without out-growing my shoes (swelling like mad)? or is that even an issue? Guest guest
My husband has been taking aleve 3 times a day and keeping his feet elevated at night. It has helped him but is definitely no cure...it makes it barable.scarab_lotus wrote: Hello everyone,I guess i'll start off by asking 2 little questionsm any answers at all would be great.. im pretty lost right now. Thanks, Hi , I have had EN for a little more than 3 years. Doctors still have no idea here what it is that is wrong with my legs. If I had not found the photo on this web site I probably would still be lost. I haven't been to a doctor since early last summer. I got tired of being treated like my problem was weight related all of a sudden. The meds they put me on to reduce the swelling only made it worse. BELOW IS AN UPDATE ON THE SUPPLEMENTS I HAVE BEEN TAKING AND HOW I AM DOING ON THEM. TAKING THESE SUPPLEMENTS HAVE GIVEN ME MY FISRT NOTICABLE CHANGE FOR THE BETTER WITH THIS EN IN OVER 3 YEARS. THERE IS ANOTHER MEMBER FROM THIS SITE THAT HAS BEEN EN FREE FOR 3 YEARS USING THESE. HOPE IT HELPS. Shins Up Swelling Down, From: " mrsmcu2 " <McUmberJA@a...> Date: Fri Mar 4, 2005 9:54 am Subject: UPDATE on supplement use for EN:) Hi Everybody, I wanted to let everyone know how I was doing using supplements to treat my EN.I had not been able to get the fish oil until Monday the 28th (big heating bill). So I had been using the flax oil until I could get fish oil. WELL, what a change the past 5 days has been since switching to the fish oil! I have lost 11.5 lbs. since Monday morning! Up until this week the most that had come off was 7-8 lbs. I have noticed that my AM to PM weight has dropped from a flux of 5-10 lbs.daily to 2 lbs. or less daily! This alone is great! I hated getting up feeling good only to have the 5-10 lbs. of fluid set in and make me feel like someone stole the bottom part of my body and attach someone else's to me. Gawd the ugly lumps in my legs are really showing now but they are smaller. I am finding lumps further up my legs that I did not know were there but they are small ones too. My joints are still hurting but I am hopeful at least that this will go away with the healing and fluid reduction. I hope this keeps up with the healing. Incase any one is interested these are the supplements I am taking: Calcium-Potassium-Magnesium Complex (any health store will have this make sure that it includes a Vitamin D) 's Water Balance Factors (you can find online at the 's Water Balance site or search to find it in a local store) Carlson's Omega-3 Fish oil or any brand should be fine Take 3 each in the morning on an empty stomach-with a full glass of water and wait at least an hour before eating.
