Guest guest
You're most welcome - and let us know how you do when you have new tests. I am always interested in iron utilization information, particularly from folks who have experienced issues like mine. I just can't figure out what the heck is going on that I can get my numbers to climb faster. Perhaps it was that I was in thyroid function decline for probably 15 years before treatment, and like so many, thought I should avoid red meat. And I never supplemented. So I guess I've really paid the price. I will keep pressing on taking my meds and doing increases and hope one day it will all " click. " Sara > > Thanks, Sara. Interesting that your ferritin has been so high, but your other numbers low. > > In this case, my doctor just said results are normal. I would like my ferritin back up where it was, however. I may just take one iron tab per day and retest after a few months. I'm guessing it had more to do with my dietary changes over a few months than anything. > > Thanks again for replying. Guest guest
I haven't been able to get my iron numbers to improve over the last two years and am officially anemic. I have done 6 out of 8 iv iron infusions as I don't absorb iron supplements due to damage done to intestines from endometriosis. I was told that I would be able to notice a difference after the 4th treatment. I haven't noticed anything but that may be due to 5 weeks of sinus infections (think it is gone now) and home with a sick baby. I will report how all goes once labwork is done in a few weeks.
