Guest guest
Keeping things organized, a place for everything and everything in it's place, has helped me tremendously. I would use all my stamina searching for something, then by the time I found it, I was hurting too much to use it. Some of the ways I do things that might give others a thought: Cook more than is needed and freeze or store left-overs, nothing wrong with left- overs. I don't have a dishwasher and there are times my joints hurt so much, the weight of even small dishes hurt to handle. Say a special blessing for the person that made paper plates! Keep a container of those disinfecting cleaning clothes close by in the bathroom and kitchen. When you're in the bathroom washing your hands, it only takes a second to wipe down the bathroom counter. Okay this one is cheating but it works. Drop a denture cleaning tablet in your commode. It fizzles up and cleans so well, looks like you scrubbed the thing for an hour! You'd be amazed at how much you can get done by breaking big jobs down into smaller ones. Put your dishes into soak or the dishwasher, wipe down the counter then sit with your feet up for a spell. It's taken me a week before to dust down my bedroom doing a few shelves a day but it sure looked nice when I finished. Someone comes in to help me twice a week but notice I said to help me, not to do everything for me. She mostly does the floors and changing the bed and bigger jobs. I resisted getting help for so long because I was so proud. I still do all I can myself and I'm so happy when I see that I accomplished something. It hurts to move the body, sometimes it hurts so much I wish I had a catheter but sometimes doing my jobs slowly and with determination, it takes my mind off the pain and helps me to feel worthwhile... I know how bad the pain is, the frustration and depression are my next of kin. Don't be hard on yourself, and yet never give up..judy/Mo
Guest guest
Judy, What great suggestions, and wow, I've never heard of the denture cleaner use for toliet bowels, I can't wait to try it out. We have hard water here in Arizona and it might be a solution to the problem I have keeping the hard water stain out of my bowl. Thanks for sharing this with us. > > Okay this one is cheating but it works. Drop a denture cleaning tablet in > your commode. Guest guest
Judy, Hi...Is it artheritis you have? I am new and don't really know what's going on. I have it too and my hands hurt so bad sometimes. Went to give blood yesterday, they wouldn't take it cause my hands were in a flare. Tell me more about yourself.
