Guest guest
That is exactly the approach he took with me. When I didn’t feel well after sometime on higher doses of T4 he wrote me a script for 5 mcg Cytomel and told me to start with 1 twice per day, adding a third if I felt a dip in the late afternoon. I also think he is a nice guy and would have stayed if I hadn’t wanted to give Armour another shot last summer. I think the symptoms I was having at the time might have had more to do with sex hormones being out of balance from nursing so long, etc., than from high T4, though. Good luck. I hope it works for you!! My appointment was this morning with him. ly, I feel sorta like I did a year and a half ago when starting Armour.. I can feel tingling in my brain! LOL He isn't going to retest me until I feel optimal.. so he is going to keep letting me increase my dose until I feel good. I am then to stay on that dose for 6-8 weeks before we run blood work.. No tests until then.. I don't even go to his office until then (unless I need more meds). He had all of the meds onsite and gave me samples until I achieve optimal dose. Then he will call in a prescription. I'll keep posting about my experience .. But so far so good. Nice guy.
Guest guest
Day 5 and still feeling pretty good.. I cheated and started 112 mcg Syntroid today - was supposed to be on the 100 mcg through Tuesday but what's a few days early.. I figure it's going to be close to the 150 mcg before I optimize anyway.. I am noticing less constipation and more stamina already. I actually have come home from work and cooked a couple of nights this week versus sitting on the couch. My mind wanders less at night, I've been sleeping great without the " mania " I used to have when trying to relax - my mind was like a TV but I didn't have the remote control - constantly flipping channels.. Hoping this continues.. So far no issues with not having T3.. Actually, I am less " hot " .. I would burn up if eating warm food.. or right after the shower.. that seems to have disappeared. Didn't I read somewhere that when on BC, it can keep a person from converting T4 to T3.. Now that I am off my BC, maybe I am converting better? I don't know.. I just figure that whatever they changed in the Armour formula just really didn't agree with my body such that even a reduced dose of T4 is making me feel much better.
