Guest guest
Hi Dana I had the same situation, so I called the COB at Medicare, was told there is only 1 COB period, so MC should still be primary. He completed the COB period about a year ago. His company changed over to a different carrier for his GHP coverage. Means this is a new carrier does the COB have to start over or does it stay the same since it is a GHP in general?? Thanks in advance for any input!! Guest guest
The answer to your questions is no. If he has completed his 30 month COB then Medicare is prime. If he has his transplant for three years and he had Medicare for some other reason, diabetic neuropathy, etc., legally blind, he will then fall into the disability world and his Medicare will be secondary to the group insurance (if he is not 65 and/or the subscriber is working). >>> Dana T 8/8/2007 10:45 AM >>> Hi all, I have a patient who has Medicare as primary and a GHP as secondary.
