Did they do an IgG test or IgG?  Big difference.  And the clear reaction is proof positive.  I wouldn't worry too much about the test, though.  You know he can't have that so I just wouldn't give it.  Since you're military, I'm assuming you have Tricare.  I don't think having him released from his current doc is going to be your problem.  Your problem is going to find *any* military doctor that will be willing to help you.  I grew up in the military and believe me, those doctors aren't worth much.  I remember being given motrin (before it became OTC - am I showing my age???) for just about anything and everything under the sun.  Broke an arm, here's some motrin, have a stomach ache, here's some motrin, Oh!  you're pregnant?  here's some motrin....  It was ridiculous how many bottles of motrin were in our house.I think you're just going to have to try to find a doc outside of the military hospital that takes Tricare to get even the slightest bit of useful help. Also, print off as much info as you can.  If you do have to go through a trial with him and his commander, you need to be highly prepared and prove that he doesn't know enough about autism to be his doctor.  Start scouring PubMed, ARI, etc. for any all studies that are relevant.CherylHi Everyone,My 5 year old son got tested for food allergies by his doctor and everything came back negative, he is on GF/CF, he does show an immediate sensitivity(reaction) to foods with G/C, he breaks out on his cheecks (hives), his ears & cheeks turn red, he gets very stimmy and not to mention "Dr Jeckel and Mr Hyde" personality. I'm going to request a second opinion but I doubt he'll give me a refferal for it, (we're military) it only took 4 years to test him for food allergies. My question is, is there a specific test that will go more into detail where "food sensitivities or intolerences" show that I can specifically request for? I'm ready to lose my patientce with this Dr, my son goes from constipation to diarrhea to constipation again, when I requsted him to do a stool sample(for yeast) & a food allergy test he told me: "I have a problem with parents requesting unnecessary tests" (I almost popped a vein when he said that) I just told him what I thought, and let me tell you they weren't warm &  happy thoughts, so he agreed to the food allergy test. I know he is not the Dr for my son, I have to have a trial with him and his commander to get my son release from his care, because his autism diagnosis it won't be that easy, specially because he is the head of pediatrics & wing commander (and he is worthless at helping my son). I have an appointment coming up and I want to be prepared. I appreciate all the help.Thanks,.

three lac has a few issues, it's milk based for one, and it also has a strep strain it in, so if you have an OCD kid that comes and go or your stool tests have shown strep stains in it, I would recommend a switch to something different. (IF you see it's an issue) are you gfcf? the blood test may also have been a RAST panel, which if a PED RAST they are only 40% accurate in foods, AND they only test for 5 things I believe, milk, wheat, eggs, nuts, and sea shell fish. we didn't have anything show on that one either. most regular docs don't believe in IGG so I highly dought that was what he ran. make sure to ask how out of state tricare works, they may not pay for all of it but may do like 80% I think my friend paid but that is still a HUGE savings and his prices are incrediably reasonable, if you wanted to try out HBOT as well while there scheudual before hand., it's only 75 dollars a session and he will let you go in with your child as well. he can give you the script for it a your appointment. so scheducal it for after if interested

Thank you all for your replies, sorry for replying so late, had to wait for my kids to be in bed & cleaned my house a bit; You guys definetly know how military doctors are, the sad thing that I'm noticing is that it hasn't change, and that apparently it's the "typical" military doctor, I thought I was the exception... and yes they give you motrin for anything & everything, young and old... your little parting gift.He didn't tell me what kind of test he did, they did take blood, about 6 or 7 vials, so I'm guessing the IgG?We have an appointment to see Dr Babtist in Aug I cannot wait, I want a second opinion and Dr Babtist is an allergist (who better). I have to get a refferal from our Dr. I dont know how that's going to go, we live in Fla and for him to approve something is unheard of, specially out of state, you would think Tricare is making him pay for it.We have been trating yeast with Threelac but I really think he needs something stronger, he takes 5 a day and I dont see him improving as much as before I don't know if yeast got immune to it; he also takes his probiotics and antivirals, OTC stuff but we diffinatly don't count on his Dr for anything. Thanks again, you have informed me a lot.

You can go out of network to anyone you want (called point of

contact or POC). You will have a co-pay but to get a doc who

listens would be worth it. Co-pays are generally small. I don't

know if you're tricare standard or tricare prime but standard gets

you alot more freedom and your ped can't say who you go to. We made

the switch some time ago and have been happy for it.

Hi ...we have the smae cycle in our house. I am told that the

SCD approach clears this up and heals it. I think the fermented

foods of the BED are really worthwhile...but have to be introduced

slowly, and the Gut and Pychology diet that rev=covered Dr.McBride's

child is very much in line with SCD. There is a site called NT Foods

that gives you weekly mailers of recipes, food prep instructions etc

for fcf meals in line with the research of Nourishing Traditions and

the Weston Price people. Diet is so tough...good luck. Di
