Urs may be like mine, virtually undetectable. My ALTs r always normal, blood work is close to normal. As well as viral load. I have no liver scaring. Mine was caught early 5 yrs ago. Diet and lifestyle changes help. I get a check up once yearly as well as a liver ultrasound and Doc always says u r good, live your life! Am waiting on the new treatment then I will take it. The new P treatment w/ pills only. Good luck! Seek 2nd opinion from Hep Dr to b sureBlessings n prayersTondaSent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerrySender: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Wed, 15 Feb 2012 05:55:15 -0000To: <Hepatitis_C_Central >ReplyTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Subject: HEP C WASN'T THERE AHYMORE ! QUACK ! In 1999 i found out i had hep c. So every few years or so , i had blood work done to keep an eye on. Well, last week i went to get my results of my recent test and the doctor said i showed no sign of hep c. When i told that i know for sure i have it, he asked if i ever been treated. i said no and he said then i guess its a miricial . COULD THIS BE TRUE? OR MAYBE IT JUST SHOWS YOU THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COUNTY CLINIC DOCTOR AND A PRIVATE DOCTOR. SHOULD I GET RE-TESTED ? PLEASE HELP IF YOU KNOW IF THIS IS POSSIBLE OR NOT . THANK YOU TAMMY

About 25% of people infected will clear on theirOwn but since you have had it since 1999, i wouldSay, if it were me, i have one more test. ThePCR which tests the viral load is what I would wantTo be retested and I would demand that they do the"heptimax" test because it tests down to 2-5 u/ml whichIs the lowest test availabe now. Its possible that your docDid the standard test which only tests to 650iu/ml. Thats a high enough level where the virus could stillReplicate. They now believe that if you test down to that2-5iu/ml that you truely are undectible and it is really gone. The test that simply tests for hcv antibodies should alwaysTest pos but its the viral load that tells whether your virusIs gone or still active. Why dont you ask the doc which testHe did and get a copy of it for your own records, then we wouldKnow more what to suggest. I hope what I said made sense, ImUsing my cell to answer this.Hugs,JaxSent from my iPhone

Hi Tammy,I suggest to get another opinion. It definitely won't hurt and if you do have Hep C the sooner you take care of it the less damage it will do to your liver. Please let us know!Love, Sheila To: Hepatitis_C_Central Sent:
