I've had both but the clonidine was to help quit the methadone.

Thanks all for the discussion on this topic. More and some references

for future study would be appreciated.

Hi Jeff,

I have RSD too and when I started my search for information in 2001 I

found Dr. H's web site to be invaluable. He is very informative and

I have even written to him and had questions answered.

But,

He is not the ONLY physician who knows something about RSD...He has

one approach to a cure and other physicians have other thoughts and

approaches to the matter..

Please continue your research, keep your mind open to other

possibilities and look for answers in all places...there is more and

more information being discovered about RSD all the time.

I tried giving up all the foods that Dr. H suggested in his RSD

diet...It has been several months and the pain is actually worse It

could be the season, it could be advancing dystrophy, I don't know

but tomorrow, I am going to eat a hot dog for the first time in

ages...and I am looking forward to it.

Jeff,

Don't put your eggs all in one basket..Read, ask questions, speak or

write to the experts (those people who have lived with this for

years..) and the physicians who have been treating them.. find out

what works for them and get informed. If you don't want Doctors

treating your disorder, who will? I personally am being treated by a

pain management team and my pain management doctor is among other

things...a neuro surgeon..I really trust him...along with my GP and

my GYN I am well taken care of...These people don't " Practice

Medicine " they are Medicine..

Jeff if you have only recently been diagnosed with RSD or even if you

have had it for a while now and just found us...I am sorry you have

this disorder, if you are lucky and proactive you can get it into

remission quickly, if on the other hand you are not so lucky then you

have a hard row to hoe and You will need the support of physicians,

family and friends...right from the get-go and for a long time to

come.

God Bless,

Daphne
