We use the Source Naturals brand, only because it was the one I picked up

first at the health food store :). I don't know much about which brands are

better, but this one is working for us. It does not contain B6. The Vitamin

Shoppe sells it online (www.vitaminshoppe.com, I think) and you can get it at

alot of health stores.

My son started taking one 825mg tablet broken into two doses a day when he

weighed about 40 lbs. He's still on that dose at 50 lbs. He's no longer

showing any aluminum in urine tests but does seem to do better when taking it

anyway. It's supposed to also help cleanse the liver and gall bladder.

As far as dosing, one doc told me to assume most supplement dosing listed on

bottles is for a 150 lb person. Then he said to take the child's weight and

figure a percentage of 150 and you have the percentage of the dosing that

would work for the child. I'd start slow with the malic acid though and

build up. When I started taking it, I had some days of feeling ill as I

released stuff so needed to reduce the dosing.

Gaylen,

Thanks for sharing.

I actually had the Source Naturals bottle in my hand today at the

local health food store, sigh, I should have bought it. I was

concern about one of the ingredients that was listed because I didn't

recognize it & the women who works there couldn't explain what it was

either. Well, back to the HFS tomorrow.

Can you give the malic acid during chelation with ALA?

I don't know but my doc said to stop it for 48 hours before starting a round

of DMSA and not start up again until at least 48 hours after stopping the

round of DMSA.
