He said I should have an endo occasionally to check for ulceration. I also asked why people tend to lose weight after the pannie and here is the official word.... The reason why panniculectomies jump start weight loss is that, with panniculectomies I also tighten the abdominal wall. This gives the effect of a tight girdle worn all the times from inside, which in-turn, causes reduction in appetite, and volume of food consumed. There is a large range of amount of weight loss in addition to the tissue taken off. The other reason is that with the panniculum gone, the anatomic, and the physical barrier to be more active are removed. Patients would tend to walk more, faster and more frequently, if they did not carry a large panniculum with them all the time. I think we deserve a lazy day once in a while. Funny, I can remember being in high school and it would be a cool rainy day, and I'd read and sleep and just be lazy and seemed like the weather was made for a lazy day. I can't do that now, my back and hips won't allow it. The pain is really baffling me. The hip joint feels tender. I even thought of seeing if an ortho guy would inject it and see if it helped. The weird is the jump in pain from the knee and then pick up again at the ankle. It was bad enough last night I was limping. in Bama VBG 1982 (lost from 433lbs to 270's) VBG -RNY1996 revision(Lost from 343 to 299) RNY-DS revision Dec 2002 -down 135 lbs (377.7 to 242.2 and still going) Homepage address- http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html Many thanks to Dr. K willing to take on a 3rd timer....LOL

There was a tightening and I did lose my appetite for a while and found it restrictive, but did not lose an ounce.... so again, YMMV, as we are all different... sigh...
