Guest guest
Hi & Everyone,I went to the Dr. yesterday. We discussed alot of things, including the Genic History I was able to obtain from my birthmother a few days ago. I did find out that she had TB as a child. My Dr. told me that I couldn't have gotten it from her. I do not have TB but the 1st pathology report in 1997 said it had a Tuberculoid Type Granulomas. My blood pressure was a little higher again. The past 3 visits in the past 2 weeks my BP seems to be climbing. I kept telling my Dr. how concerned I am about my legs. It feels like someone is squeezing them. I think this EI (Panniculitis) has certainly done some damage to the blood vessels in my legs. I begged him to please do the Nerve Conduction Studies. He said he was going to call the new Rheumatologist and see if he won't work me in. I just can't wait until 1/30/06. I am so frustrated with this guy. I guess they don't feel like my symptoms are important enough to address right away.My GP put me on Lasix yesterday. My feet and ankles are huge. I am in so much pain too. I have been fighting off headaches all day. I stayed home today and tried to rest and stay off my feet. I just hate how bad this EI makes you feel.Sometimes I feel like I would just go to sleep and never wake up. Don't mean to scare anyone with that statement. I am not suicidal or anything. I am just so down right now. My GP just kept telling me, "It's not your fault. There just isn't a cure for all of the illnesses you have. Your body is just attacking itself. With all of the meds and research, even in 2006 there is nothing out there yet to get rid of your illnesses altogether." He told me all he could do was treat my symptoms and pain. Sabina, I can definately relate to how you feel. I feel like I am going to have a stroke or something because the circulation in my legs is SO bad. I have even been feeling short of breath because of it. I can't even sit in my chair for very long or they go numb and dead.Hope you're feeling better soon.Hugs, Lorrie Anne Re: Edema Dear Sabina,<< My legs feel like they will burst everytime I stand up! >>I think we have all experienced that. It's frightening and horrible. The pain is probably due to pressure of edema. The way I have treatedthat is to get bedrest and use elastic bandages. The trick I use is towrap the bandages in the AM when still in bed and the legs are theleast swollen. Here is an article on swollen legs and treatment:http://home.att.net/~liveletdie5/ALS/swelling.htmlI know you have little ones to care for, and that you can't stay inbed all day to get the rest you need. Is there anyone you can havehelp you out? Shins up!Love,
