Janie,

I've not been to a Naturopath, but I've done a lot of research into

homeopathic remedies. I take a daily multivitamin, essential fatty

acids, MSM, magnesium citrate, olive leaf extract, and acidophilus

on a regular basis.

The EFA's (Omega 3, 6, and 9) are supposed to be good for the heart,

cholesterol, and the skin, MSM is supposed to be good for joint and

tissue regeneration, I take the magnesium because I've read studies

that says people with Fibro are deficient in it, and it also helps

with nerve pain and with sleep problems, the olive leaf extract is a

good natural antibiotic, as well as being extremely effective at

killing candida albicans, and acidophilus to maintain my digestive

tract. If there is something going around at work or wherever, I

add Vitamin C, and if I'm starting to catch a cold, Echinacea. I

used to get sick, and was on antibiotics at least several times a

year. Since I started out on homeopathy, I've been antibiotic free

since January of last year, and that was a pre-op dose for surgery.

The last dose for an illness was November of 2002.

Hi Everyone:

I am using both traditional medication and herbal/native american

medication/meditation techniques, you name it, kind of all together.

However, all my herbal remedies come fresh, they are not compounded in a GNC

store. I would be concerned about their processing procedures and how much

of the actual good part of the herb is left.

Also, make sure you let your doctor be aware that you are trying an

alternative approach. That way, if you do become allergic or have a problem

with an herbal remedy, it will be obvious and save yourself a lot of

heartache. I have known entirely too many people who have over-taken

vitamins and minerals, and all those advertised herbal remedy drugs only to

find that they made them feel worse rather than better.

I think with a person who is very knowledgeable in natural herbal medicine,

say maybe a shaman, a chinese physician, etc... along with your own doctor,

you could possibly find a pretty good line to follow.

Meditation is also a great tool to help you relax and take your mind off the

pain. Granted, it isn't a cure all and it will not help you all the time

but just a few minutes to 10 minutes each day of quiet to yourself will help

you more than you think. Consider it your " time out " from the family,

duties, work, laundry, whatever... It is your time to rest.

Just my 2 cents worth.
