Interesting... what is this vitamin therapy exactly? Did a doctor

point it out to you, or did you find about it yourself?

Kitty

ps. I may not post a lot, my internet connection is slow... I live in

the boonies and it takes forever to download pages/messages.

exactly ...would take some explaining, but not a single doctor even considered vitamin therapy....only more drugs with numerous side effects( the last drug was a long term antibiotic used to treat leprocy, and is known to have caused fatalities if not closely monitored)...when i discovered this info i said "screw the doctors"...three months of their treatment just watched as sweete syndrome progressed into leukocytoclastic vasculitis , and finally into pyoderma gangrenosa...at this point i began research online, and well... the rest is history!!!

the main point is ....TRADITIONAL DOCTORS ( I HAD MORE THAN 30 OF THEM) ARE SET IN TRADITIONAL TREATMENTS...MORE DRUGS!!! NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM EVEN BRIEFLY ENTERTAINED THE IDEA THAT PERHAPS I WASNT HEALING BECAUSE MY BODY WAS LACKING THE BASIC NUTRIENTS IN WHICH TO DO SO!!

Greetings Shane

There is no way on earth vitamins can cure Vasculitis, I would like to

see medical documented proff of this, which in fact I know does not

exsist.

I take my Vasculitis seriously, and would be dead if not for modern

medicine.

i would not be so sure... the body does have the ability to heal itself when given the proper tools - things we don't always get in today's world

Sorry so long in getting back with u jeff!!

I started out with sweete syndome that progressed into leukocytoclastic vasculitis, and finally into horribly ulcerated p.g.

these were all diagnoses from biopsy results.

Anyway, i came up with this therapy myself simply because I had nothing to lose...nothing else had worked .

I began by doing some heavy research into vitamins , herbs, minerals, etc. that were known to affect the immune system. I remember hearing about cancer patients going to mexico for some sort of vitamin therapy that was not approved by the FDA , and having success.

anyhow began taking mega doses of the supplements i had chosen( probably nearly poisoned myself i was taking so many. The thing that makes me think my body was lacking certain nutrients was that even though i was taking huge doses of B- complex, for thefirst couple days my urine really didnt change color much....It should have been bright glowing flourescent yellow!!!

I really believe that the colloidal silver solution (taken orally) was one of the more important supplements.then of course the b-complexes , several thousand mg. of vitamin c throughout the day, amino acids potassium (K), some calcium and vit.D, vitamin e,and a colloidal-metals supplement

I get most of these at the same site ( and one of the only places i could find the colloidal silver solution)

I tookall of these several times a day for 5 days and then eased off a little bit , but there was more healing in those 5 days than 3 months of steroid therapy ---- Original Message -----

hi shane,

no problem. hey, thanks for sharing. i think you are on to

something given the results you got. i have heard of some of the

items you are taking, some i take myself. i am a firm believer that

we do suffer from lacking certain " things " , but i also know that for

every case, they differ also. prednosone did not work for me

either. i was on 120mg at one point. a few other things didn't work

either. in all cases, antibiotics do not work. pg, as you know, is

not an infection. i had a particularily stubborn case. ended up in

the university of michigan medical center for a month. i was fearing

i might loose my lower leg also. pg is rare and very difficult to

treat. my case is complicated by having crohns disease as well. i

stay in remission for cd and pg by using infliximab (remicade),

methotrexate (mtx) mainly. i also supplement with may vitamins,

minerals and herbs. it was a long, very long and tough road to get

to this point. many docs, not quite 30, but i know exactly what you

mean about docs. i share many of your horror stories. i had a doc

that wanted to debride my pg, even though i could prove to him via

the biopsy that it was pg, not an infection. i had a rheumy give me

oral voltaren knowing full well that my sx's indicated an ibd

condition. left me bed ridden for 2 weeks with majorly flaring

crohns. my final treatment, which includes my own dosing of certain

vitamins and such took over 2 years of agonizing pain and other

failed treatments and docs. i was treated with 3 major

immunomodulators before ending up on prograf, which finally put my pg

in remission. i had to go off that due to it's effect on my kidneys,

so ended up on the mtx.

i know from talking with my " good " docs and others that have had pg

that no one is the same. some can get relief with natural or let's

say, no use of tradional medications, like yourself, some of us

can't. some respond to certain treatments, such as steriod injection

directly into the pg wound, some won't. it is truely a mixed bag.

if you look at the " typical " treatments for pg, it really varies. it

ends up trial and error in most cases.

one thing i learned shane is most docs just don't understand pg due

to it's rarily. i just spent my 4th year going back to u of m

medical center for something called " grand rounds " . about a dozen of

us (patients) with various derm issues meet with 2nd year medical

students and discuss our cases. i have my primary u of m doc there

with me and we both discuss it. today, i know there are about 800

doctors out there, some graduated, some not yet, that have some first

hand knowledge of this condition. that makes me feel good in a

special way. i never want another person to ever go thru what i had

to go thru. my feeling now, after all this occuring to me about 4

years ago, when it is all said and done, rather than sitting back and

blaming the " bad docs " and blaming western medicine for being a

failure, i want to do something about it, to prevent it. it is good

for the medical establishment and benefits the patient. this has

been kind of a realization for me. almost enlightened you might

say. 4 years ago i was hurting badly and was bitter....well, more

than that, i was worried sick! very frustrated and felt totally

helpless. i guess this kind of experience can cause one to have

an " awakening " you might say. that is what happened to me.

well, i have blabbed long enough. i appreciate you sharing as you

did and i am tickled it worked for you. and you know what? i can

definately understand your frustration!

continue to be well,

jeff

I was talking with my aunt (by marriage) on saturday who is a nurse and has been battling severe colitis and arthritis for more than 15 years. she told me about this omega3 formula that she has been taking that has kept her without symptoms of either for a few years now - here's a link to their website

http://www.n3inc.com/index2.html

keep in mind (obviously) that this site it biased because it is the product site - but she has seen dramatic results and in hearing her story i have to agree that this stuff worked - it is an awesome anti-inflammatory and immune builder

my opinion about holistic medicine (if anyone cares): it has been my observation that people who have been "cured" holistically are sort of like people who have found God - once you see the light you want to shout it out to the world (and there are some who want to listen and some who don't). i have seen people 'cured' with herbs, vitamins, acupuncture, and other alternatives so i am always open minded to the possibilities - especially when modern medicine really doesn't *always* have the answers

hey all,

yeah, omega-3s are great in reducing inflammation. i swear by it. i

take it for me crohns and me morning stiffness. i swear it is the

only reason i can get out of bed some days. not only that, but it

also provides the " good " cholesteral. i take it before i go to bed

at night. drinking lots of water is good too!

this reminds me. anyone suffer from sinisitis? i have it terrible.

some of it is allergy related, some of it is just the structure of my

nasal passages. but anyway, i have found that grapeseed extract

really works for this. one of my old docs recommended it to me about

6 years ago. i use 2 different nasal sprays, been on allergy shots

for 5 years, i even " sinus flush " occasionally. i used to use

grapeseed extract all the time, then i went off it for over a year.

i recently (about 6 weeks ago) went back on it. wow, it is like

turning a light bulb on and off. my sinisis are so much better as

compared to 6 weeks ago. helps prevent colds too!
