Amalgam does show on x-rays. When I have my fillings eplaced the dentists

requested permission to x-ray between when he took out the old ones and when he

put in the new ones to make sure he hadn't missed a speck somewhere.

Would this residue show up on an x-ray? I have two crowns but neither shows any
