Guest guest
I'm glad to know it's not just me, but doesn't it seem odd to you that NOBODY has posted for a whole day? I didn't get any info on the group homepage either.  Hmmm.... Guest guest
Hi Peggy, Same here - just thought because it was Mother's day and the outdoor growing season is going strong - maybe we are all busy. I graduate Saturday with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. The last final was today and it has not sunk in. I can hardly wait to post new sprout experiments with nut soak and veggie pates wrapped in lettuce or nori and loaded with sprouts. Sprouted flax experiments have been neglected, and I just received some organic powdered chipotle from Frontier. Would that be amazing with sprouted flax, sprouted almond, onion, cumin, sun dried tomato, etc... Guest guest
Hi , Yes, I thought about the Mother's Day thing, too, but it still seems very, very strange to me that not one person had anything to post all day. Congrats on your Respiratory Therapy degree!! I wish you much success! Your new sprout experiments sound good (except for the chipotle - too hot for me!). I've not sprouted flax - think I'll try that. I have a beautiful batch of Russian Mix just finished - I did an extra-good job of dehulling this time and they responded by giving me the best batch yet of this particular mix. I hope people start posting here again soon - I miss the daily contact. Glad you replied! Guest guest
For the record, it's Thursday Night, It's 8:45 p.m. May 12, and where is everybody? My seeds came today from Handy Pantry. Alfalfa and Fenugreek. Cannot WAIT to sprout these babies. Mel
Guest guest
I am here Melody with my sad crop of buckwheat...maybe enough for one smoothie tomorrow...so you see that even the sprouts are taking some time off...Interesting isn't it? Guest guest
Thanks for that, Melody! I did order the Sprout Garden from Amazon as it was only 24.50 and free shipping (because I pay for that once a year - and as much as I order from them, it's worth the price!) I will have the order either Mon or Tues as I don't know if they consider weekend days when they say 2-day shipping. Can't wait!  BTW, my husband has decided to eat his sprouts raw (that is, not ground up in a smoothie in the VM), so tonight he made a salad that was almost like your tuna-sprout salad. He used tuna, tomatoes, Russian Mix and Amber Waves of Grain sprouts, olive oil and pickle relish. I made one I tweaked a bit from the Weight Watchers site (no, I don't do WW - YET - but I really should). Mine has garbanzos, (not to be confused with gazongas - lol), garlic, green onion, olives, orange bell pepper, crumbled Feta cheese, and Russian Mix sprouts, dressed with olive oil and lemon juice. A little lemon zest sprinkled on top for beauty. It's pretty good! I only had canned garbanzos on hand, but next time I think I'll try sprouting some and cooking them myself. You could also add tuna or chicken to this. Yum!  I tried joining your Sprout Channel, but had some hangup with my YouTube ID linking to my Google ID - I didn't want to deal with it at that time. Will probably try again.  My comment is: You ROCK, girl!  Have a great weekend - don't everybody go and hide now...  Peggy  ps...I had some blood work done and it came back as exceptionally deficient in Vitamin D3 - my value was 9 and the normal range is 32-100. That should improve as soon as I start gardening in the sunlight - as uncovered as I dare! No wonder my bones and muscles have been achy lately! I'll also be supplementing with D3. Also bags of rye, wheat, oat groats, and quinoa in the freezer. I like all those, but really prefer the leafy greens. Last one sprouted was Russian Mix (and that's where I get my fenugreek - as well as red clover, onion, mustard, and dill!). It's a good mix, but I like Mother's Mix better. > > > > > ÃÆ'Æ'‚ÃÆ'‚ÂÃ\ ‚ > > > > > I think I'll have to check out Handy Pantry.
