Do you lose it all at once, or do you have to work pound by pound? I am now in the stage, 16 months out, where I lose a pound and it may stay off for several days, then I either go ahead and lose 1/2-1 pound, or I gain back that first pound I lost and have to work it off again. Frustrating! But my son is heading to Redding this Sept to go to college, and with the major heat difference between Redding and Eureka (if it's 65 in Eureka, which is a hot summer day, it'll be 100 or more in Redding), I'm just glad you posted about this weight bounce, that way I'm not going to be surprised or upset if it does happen to me. I know in the past I've always " swelled " when we leave this area for any reason, everywhere else is hot compared to here! Judy E in Eureka, where we've had beautiful sunshine and hot days of over 60 for almost two weeks, NO RAIN!

A girl I haven't seen in almost three months just told me I look thinner, lol! Great timing. I am, however, drawing a line in the sand. I don't care how hot it gets, I refuse to puff up more! Guest guest
Same here.....as soon as the weather turned hot, I jumped about 8 pounds! I panicked the first time, then it went away, and I am kinda getting used to it...but the damn bouncing scale trick is a shocker some days! I HAVE noticed that if I drink at all, even 1 beer, I gain 8-10 pounds and it takes me 3-4 days to get rid of it! ANY ALCOHOL = weight gain for me!!! I sat and munched ice chips at the bar for 6 hours the other night but danced non stop til my feet were sore and my hips aching! But damn, it feels good to not only be able to get on the dance floor, but to WANT TO!!! 14 years with my ex and I only danced with him maybe twice....slow dances only, and with Ray until I had the ds and lost 100 pounds I refused to dance as well, it was too painful and I was too self conscious! LOL, Poor Ray, Now I am out there every dance, in a mini skirt no less, and shakin, rocking, and rollin! Fast and furious as well as the slow dances! As Pat would say, I love this surgery!!!! But this weight regain seems to have hit a lot of us all at once, I know they told me at my 18 month follow-up that the heat CAN cause it, so I am not going to stress it too much, as long as I can still fit into my clothes, jumping 8-10 pounds is livable, but still darn annoying! Marta Marta, You and I discussed this a long time ago pre op. How people didn't get that aged look when they didn't lose quite as much. I know Jo told me in Bakersfield that she started drinking sugared drinks to slow her losses when she felt she had lost too much. One good thing I HAVE noticed. My friend who looked so bad after losing weight, I saw her the other day, and she looked better, more her normal age. I wondered if she had gained a little or if the body had just been stressed by the losses and took some time to adjust? Either way, You looked really good in the pics with you and Holly. Tom was surprised. You've changed that much since we were there.... in Bama VBG 1982 (lost from 433lbs to 270's) VBG -RNY1996 revision(Lost from 343 to 299) RNY-DS revision Dec 2002 -down 135 lbs (377.7 to 242.2 and still going) Homepage address- http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html Many thanks to Dr. K willing to take on a 3rd timer....LOL
